After a period of time in the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Rhonda returned to school to obtain a Masters in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. During that time, Rhonda married the best friend she’s ever had this side of Heaven and has enjoyed over 30 years of wedded insanity. Rhonda and her husband Tom moved with their children to Indiana in 1997 and have enjoyed much of what Indiana has to offer a large homeschooling family. Rhonda and her husband have 8 children, 2 daughters-in-love and 4 amazingly funny grandchildren. Rhonda loves reading, especially sci-fi/fantasy, photography and being involved with CYT Indy.
Rhonda’s passions include helping children and adults heal from trauma they have experienced and has worked in many aspects of the social service field, including domestic violence shelter therapy, pregnancy crisis center group and individual therapy, therapeutic foster care, home-based therapy, integrated behavioral health in a primary care setting and now at Selah House. Rhonda employs Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based and Family Systems Therapy in her work with individuals and families.
“What I love most about Selah is the warmth and unconditional love offered to the clients and families whose lives are for a time intersecting with ours. The greatest reward we can have is to see the emotional, physical and spiritual healing that happens here.”
